GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS (On-line tutorial links appear below):

Repairs made with Merlin's Magic Wands can be filed smooth and painted to blend with the job. Although most repairs take only a few seconds, it is important to clean the repair area to shiny metal using a stainless steel brush before repairing to assure a good metal bond. A grinder or file can be used. If the metal is oily, a drop of muriatic acid can be used to remove oil or grease. To remove anodized coatings from aluminum, sand or file before repairing. If the surface is painted, remove the paint with an appropriate thinner or burn the paint off with a torch.

Use a propane torch to heat the repair area... The rod will melt at 717-728 degrees F... Be careful, as aluminum will melt at 1100 degrees... As you apply heat to the metal, hold the rod to the metal and apply with a rubbing action... The rod should melt from the heat of the metal, not the torch... When the rod begins to melt, complete the repair... When working with thick metals, apply a small amount of rod and "tin" the metal surface by rubbing the rod in with a stainless steel brush, then re-heat and apply additional rod to complete the repair.

Because Merlin's Magic Wands don't drip, they're a great way to repair small holes, splits and tears and still retain high surface tensions... The repair can be drilled, tapped, filed and sanded... To join two pieces, bevel and clamp together and apply heat to both pieces... To bebuild a broken area that is flat on one side, back with a flat piece of steel and build the repair out... Merlin's Magic Wands will not stick to steel.

When working with heavier metals, you can also use Mapp Gas or an Oxy-Acetylene torch set for a carburizing flame (slightly less oxygen).

Hi!... I'm Mark...

I hope you got a chuckle out of this fun photo... I have a lot of fun demonstrating the power of these amazing alloy rods at shows, fairs and other events... Perhaps you've seen me in your travels...

I may approach selling this product as fun, but these rods are serious business... They allow you to do repairs and new projects that you never thought possible! And, their ability to join different metals makes them truly magical...

Even though I've worked with metals for many years, I am constantly amazed at the things I've been able to do with these rods in my shop, and at the money these rods have saved me because of their versatility!

Verily I say unto thee... When thou havest Merlin's Magic Wands, Thou art Merlin!
